Research and Teaching Assistant needed in New Delhi, India
Job Description: The Research and Teaching Assistant position requires assisting a healthcare e-governance Professor based in New York City but teaching in India. The Professor is currently a visiting faculty member at a leading MBA school in Delhi. The primary responsibility of the position holder will be to work with the Professor to enhance the overall educational experience of healthcare e-governance courses for MBA students. He/she will be responsible for assisting in developing the course curriculum and facilitating delivery of the same. Other responsibilities include facilitating class discussions, assisting with student evaluations and in-class competitions, advising students on their academic concerns. The Research and Teaching Assistant will also be required to assist with the Professor’s research grants in healthcare e-governance effectiveness. This includes background research; engaging with grant sponsor, working with partner groups in medicine and public health, grant proposal writing, reporting findings, data analysis, co-authoring publications. He/she may be required to work independently or as part of a team and must be a highly motivated person with tremendous initiative. The Research and Teaching Assistant will be based in Delhi but will be required to work from noon to 1800 in office and from 2000 to midnight IST to stay in sync with the New York office. The right candidate will have a Masters degree in any one of the following areas: outcomes effectives, economic effectiveness, biomedical informatics, healthcare e-governance, biomedical engineering or a related field with a high GPA, preferably a minimum 1 year of relevant healthcare research experience. He/ She should be detail oriented and be able to the follow direction extremely well. She/he should possess the ability to persist and explore answers while working on assignments. He/she should be comfortable with the classroom environment and have the maturity to interact with department faculty and administration and facilitate class room activities. Excellent communication skills – written and verbal - are an essential requirement for the position. This is an ideal position for someone looking to pursue a master’s degree/ doctorate in India or abroad. This is a full time position. International travel may be necessary. Salary offered is in the range of 7 to 9 lacs per annum plus bonus, depending upon experience. The position is based in New Delhi.
